Would be a bit difficult to sit on that couch with a slanted wall. But if the window could come out.....

Just what I was thinking! You'd have to be a foot tall for that sofa to be comfortable! On the plus side you'd always have your hobbies, taking photos of your life as record playing, fruit squeezing, repairer of red vinyl furniture! -Mark J

Maybe you open the window and stick your head outside, kinda like rumble seats on old cars.

Maybe the interior decorators weren't able to ovecrome the challenge of a second-floor slanted ceiling, but this is world-class colour-coordinating in action.

They refused to let any item's pre-existing colour interfere with their vision. If the lamp or television or the desk clock or the sewing machine doesn't fit with the colour scheme, just re-paint it!

Extending that even to book covers may have been going a bit too far, though.

So my mother's sister had that couch all through my childhood and teens. I actually broke it when I invited my friends over to watch Rocky Horror Picture Show on VHS for my unsupervised "teen" birthday and we got rowdy. There is also an unphotgraphed dresser as part of that set and my wife still uses it, in the original orange and white with square handles, because she loves the mod.
