Batman and the Orange Hand

My friend Todd from Hake's Americana sent me this incredible bit of 1970s weirdness. It's a UK promotional catalog where Batman solves a case inexplicably by buying a young boy some polyester pants and a few sweaters.

Never has there ever been an item so fitting to what this website is about, it's part Mall Appearance, part Fashion Mockery with a hint of Saturday morning thrown in, did I mention it's also a touch creepy? You'll honestly think I made this up.

After the jump read the Orange Hand original story "Who's out to Murder Batman?"

Nothing odd about Batman appearing at a boy's bedroom and promising to take him shopping, nope, nope, nope....

So basically Batman has this kid gambling and hanging around criminals, criminals so dumb that a change of sweater (or jumper to our UK friends) makes them think it's a different kid?

Did Batman really need help with this gang?

Did Frank Miller write this?

Is Batman flying in that last panel?

I find this a really tenuous way to connect any sort of Super heroics to trying on freaking pants with your mom all Saturday afternoon.

According to this link Orange Hand stores only ran briefly in the early 1970s.
