Toy-Ventures: Halloween Costume Countdown

Toy-Ventures this week is a look at five classic Halloween costumes from my collection, some are weird, none are scary but they're all infused in some magical 1970s pop culture goodness.

Happy Halloween from PlaidStallions, check out every episode of Toy_Ventures here:

Pod Stallions 70: Anthology Shows

We're back with an all-new episode, we had some technical issues but we powered through and hopefully, you will too because we left them all in!

The topic is anthology shows but mainly ones in the science fiction and horror theme, we begin with some of the more familiar shows like "Twilight Zone" and "Outer Limits", a short stop into "Fantasy Island" (because....Brian) and get into the obscure and short-lived programs such as "Dark Room" or "Perversions of Science".

We seriously cover a lot of ground with this one including memorable episodes, remakes and reboots and of course, merchandise.

The conversation rounds out with the renaissance the format is having currently with "Black Mirror" and the Rebooted "Twilight Zone" and we end in the only logical place, a discussion of Billy Crystals characters on "Saturday Night Live".

We hope you enjoy.

Please  give us spirited debate in our new Facebook group.

My Fantasy Island Collection

Inspired by the new movie "My Dinner with Hervé" (Dinklage is pretty amazing in it BTW) I thought it would be fun to showcase the nick nacks (pun intended) that I've collected from the TV series "Fantasy Island".

Growing up I rarely missed the show on Saturday nights, it's mix of fantasy, comedy and horror were pretty intoxicating to my younger self and I've been an unironic lifelong fan. There isn't a lot of merch and while not expensive, it's elusive.

So my guests, welcome to Fantasy Island and join me after the jump!

Da Grail! Da Grail!

I managed to track down a major Halloween costume grail this past weekend and while it's certainly not the most expensive or most desired suit on my want list, it sure is a personal  favourite. More on this after the jump!

Fantasy Island Poster Art Set

Thanks to this site, I found one of my top five personal wants and I know it's hard to believe but this is done without irony. I really liked Fantasy Island as a kid and this poster art set is one of the cooler bits of merchandise it got.

Look how pimp Mr. Roarke and Tattoo look there!

I've honestly been looking for this set for years, it rarely pops up, unlike Star Wars which is constantly available.

Like all Craft Master Poster Art sets, the art is phenomenal but I'm honestly unsure of how to get the results depicted on the package with those markers.

Smiles everyone, Smiles!

1979 Craftmaster Poster Art Catalog

Poster and marker sets were one of my favourite ways to spend an afternoon as a kid (cause that's about how long the markers would last). I also recently have become invested in tracking down all the ones I had as a kid.

Craftmaster had all the best licenses in the late 70s which included Star Wars and arch rival Battlestar Galactica, Super hunk John Travolta, Fantasy Island and Love Boat.

I'd also like to add if you have the Fantasy Island set for sale, CONTACT ME!!!!!
