For some reason the commerical for the Astro Blast Power Center stuck in my brain as a kid, a cool idea from Mattel.

it was called Zack Power in the US, it had a different name in the UK, I think it was Mike Zoom.

I can testify that the Astro Blast rocket launcher was an extremely cool toy. The launch mechanism could be rotated to fire rockets AT things (like action figures on tables or shelves) as well as straight into the air. Without the rockets, it worked as an air gun, launching surprisingly powerful little bursts of air across the room -- Perfect for annoying dogs or other children.
