Muppet Big Wheels

Shouldn't Kermit's ride be an "It's not easy being Green" Machine?

Oh, it was too early for that, I'm going to lay down now....

Muppet Candle Making Kit

Candle making kits are both wonderful and strange, you are essentially setting fire to characters you find beloved.

1980 JC Penny Toy Land Flyer

I am a complete junkie for toy store newspaper flyers, they are just such a wonderfully illustrated time capsule of our childhoods.

This beautiful piece from JC Penny in 1980 is a pretty terrific example of why I love these, so many old friends are here.

From bikes to big wheels, Barbie to Ms Piggy, Fisher Price Little People to Kenner Star Wars, it's a fantastic cross section of Childhood:1980.

La Maison des Muppets

I found this in a toy catalog from France, Statler and Waldorf didn't make their way onto a lot of merchandise so it's nice to see them get so much real estate....

Poster Art Center

There is no doubt in my mind that I would have spent all of my pocket money on one of these as a kid. It's just what one? I'm not ashamed to admit even Ziggy was a contender for me as a kid.

1978 Fisher Price Muppet Show Catalog

1978 muppet catalog

The Muppet Show was as much an ingrediant to a happy 70s childhood as were orange kitchens and pop rocks were. The UK Produced syndicated series was a complete smash and not surprisingly oodles of merchandising followed. Toymaker Fisher Price already knew the value of a Muppet, having produced Sesame Street items since the early 1970s released some of the most memorable Muppet show items..

Vintage Toy Store Pictures Part Ten

I cannot think of a better update for our fifth anniversary other than doing another vintage toy store update. When I set out to create  the original vintage toy store gallery for the site, I never imagined I'd get to part 2 let alone roman numeral X!

Being a toy nerd this is my favourite section of the site and I love that I've unearthed this much goodness and that it's touched so many of you.

As sequels go, Part ten does not disappoint with plenty of iconic toys spotted on the shelves, We've got Micronauts, Star Wars, Mego 2XL and Star Trek, Tonka Trucks, Janex talking alarm clocks, Dinky cars, Dancerella and a few more suprises!

More Fisher Price Store Displays

Brian from Ant-Toys strikes again!,we last heard from him when he sahred his amazing find of 1970s Fisher Price Adventure People Store Displays and now he's back to share some toy history, this time it's about other FP lines like Muppets and Little People:

I still have a few of these Little People vehicles kicking around, this display is more awesome because it's filled.

And of course, FP was all about the Muppet Show for a good long while, I do remember this header card from department stores back in the day.

FP's Muppet show action figures are just killer, I had the Gonzo but I honestly never used the little puppet stick it came with.

I vaguely remember these, not something I was into mind you.

Brian has a lot more store displays up for grabs today including later Little People and Disney's Gummi Bears line. So check out his Ebay Store sometime today for all of the listings.

Eaton's Toy Land 1979

This one's kind of personal to me, seeing as my mom seemed to do most of her Christmas shopping with her Eaton's Card. Three years after they stopped making Wishbooks, Eaton's department stores made this cool newspaper circular that featured the hot toys of the time. From Muppets to Micronauts, Star Wars to Green Machines, the 1979 Eaton's Toy Flier is one fun time warp.

Bert and Ernie Keep Me Warm!

hey bert

Could this possibly be the grooviest piece of Sesame St merchandise ever? If I owned these, they'd be the only things I'd wear and I mean only.

Revamped the Plaidstallions website yesterday, drop by and let me know your thoughts.
