5 Awesome Things on eBay this week

Mork Bubble Gum in a plastic egg- I vividly remember when these hit my town and watching kids in the schoolyard playing with those eggs like they were space ships.

Spider-Man Fun Poncho by Ben Cooper- We're in the middle of a heatwave here, I can't really put draping yourself in unbreathing PVC under the umbrella of "Fun" but to each their own....

1976 Kenner Toys Catalog- You may have figured out that I collect old toy catalogs, you're very perceptive if you have. This Kenner from 1976 is full of awesome, iconic Six Million Dollar Man items and is an excellent price to start you on your way.

GI Joe Super Adventure Team Colorforms Set- I think this might be one of my favorite colorforms sets of all time, mainly because it celebrates the brief teaming of Bulletman, Joe and Atomic Man.

Moonraker Book and Tape Set- What the heck is this? It was released in 1985, long after Moonraker and I'm curious it retells the movie or the book's story (which is totally different). Gah, I wanna know.....

Black Hole Masks!

These wonderful masks from Italy are from my friend John's collection, they're exactly like the Ben Cooper/Collegeville designs but there was never a smock to go with it.

Honestly, I am just awash in envy about that Humanoid mask, I have a weird affliction for the brain dead zombies of Dr. Reinhart and always will. I really want to thank John for sharing these amazing artifacts.

1986 Collegeville Halloween Costume Catalog

Collegeville was one of the leading Halloween costume manufacturers of the late twentieth century.

This extensive 1968 catalog really demonstrates the powerhouse licenses they were rocking in the 60s, including Labyrinth, The Transformers and the Go-Bots, WWF Wrasslers, Wuzzles, Rainbow Bright and the Peanuts, it's a good group and some solid 1980s nostalgia.

My Fantasy Island Collection

Inspired by the new movie "My Dinner with Hervé" (Dinklage is pretty amazing in it BTW) I thought it would be fun to showcase the nick nacks (pun intended) that I've collected from the TV series "Fantasy Island".

Growing up I rarely missed the show on Saturday nights, it's mix of fantasy, comedy and horror were pretty intoxicating to my younger self and I've been an unironic lifelong fan. There isn't a lot of merch and while not expensive, it's elusive.

So my guests, welcome to Fantasy Island and join me after the jump!

Shark! by Ben Cooper

When Jaws hit pop culture like a runaway train, licensors lined up to cash in. The only problem? Any toy company can make a shark toy and boy howdy did they.

This particular one by Ben Cooper just goes above and beyond by including a victim, a scared victim!

Man, I know that face, I make it at least once a week.  I wish I owned this toy but it was kindly submitted by a collector to include in Rack Toys

1986 Ben Cooper Costume Catalog

It wouldn't be Halloween without at least one costume catalog on PlaidStallions and I'm thrilled to be showcasing this rarity from 1986.

It's pretty hard to find an 80s property that isn't represented here, I mean seriously this thing is chock full of cartoon and toy characters.

Check out the 1986 Ben Cooper Catalog here!

Gre-Gory: Big Bad Vampire Bat by Mattel

It finally happened, I got my hands on a Gre-Gory. After posting my disappointment ten years ago (ulp!) I found a good deal on one and decided to take the plunge.

More photos after the jump and my observations as I have never seen or held one of these in my life.

Ben Cooper Frankenstein Wiggler

I never ran into a Frankenstein, I didn't like and this past summer at Mego Meet I found one that I didn't have.

I AND I love him! he's got a magical "Dracula Vs Frankenstein" quality about it. There's something so special about a generic Frankenstein.

Friend Good! I think it's funny that he's specifically called a "Wiggler", it just didn't catch on.

Cousin Eerie Halloween Costume

Well here is something I've never seen before, thanks to my buddy Matt for sharing. This is a Ben Cooper Cousin Eerie Halloween costume based of course on the mascot for the Warren magazine Eerie.that ran for nearly 20 years.

And it's a great costume too! Nice mask and smock action here.

According to Matt, there is a costume for "Uncle Creepy" as well but it must be rare as he doesn't own one.

Sid & Marty Krofft Halloween Costumes Gallery

One of the biggest influences of my childhood were the Saturday morning programs created by the famed Canadian brothers Sid and Marty Krofft. I don't think I was alone judging by the amazing variety of Halloween costumes available almost every year of my childhood.

Thanks to my pal Dave McKroffterson for sharing his

amazing and often times obscure collection of

Sid and Marty Krofft costumes and prototypes for

this amazing gallery.
