5 Awesome Things on eBay this week

Airgam boys is this awesome Knock off Playmobile series that has monsters and superheroes. This set features a repurposed 7-zark-7, i'm telling Sand Frank!

Custom Sleestak Jiggler- I love dream pieces like this, it looks like it belongs on the shelf of an SS Kresge and Co. Why wasn't this made?

1970s Funbuckles store display- Oh man, I'd wear everyone of these.

MASH Walkie Talkies by AHI- M*A*S*H toys by AHI are actually pretty rare but actually not all that expensive when they turn up. I think they're neat.

Battlestar Galactica Iron On- This background character sure did appear on oodles of merchandise. At the time, I wouldn't have wanted this but now I'd choose this over a Cylon.

Toy-Ventures: AHI Action Apeman

Clearly inspired by the Mego Planet of the Apes action figures, the AHI Action Apeman are some of the boldest knock offs ever produced, I'll explain why I think that in this video.

Woke up on the dark side of the bed today....

Happy Monday! Here is another Star Wars bedspread that hopefully brings you some joy. I had the pillowcase for this set (I think I still do) and this always transports me to being 7.

5 Awesome Things on eBay this week

Knock Off Universal Monsters Hat with Sun Visor- This is the kinda bootleg goodness you'd find in a towel store/tourist trap on your way to Orlando. I love that sort of thing BTW....

V T-Shirt- Damn, I am in awe of this but unfortunately, I'd look like Baby Huey with that on.

Remco Sgt Rock Playset- Was there ever a more appropriate license for Green Army men than Remco? I love that his enemies are called "The Bad Guys", they stayed up all night thinking of that....

Kirk and Spock Erasers by Deiner- How the heck am i this close to 50 and just discovering these were a thing?

Glamour Gals Chad figure- Ok I was looking at Glamour Gals figures to see if I could make Fantasy Island figures, I know that's way weirder than just saying I collect these but I believe in honesty. Chad with his purple frilled jumpsuit is part of the "Great Dates" series and you know, I believe that this guy would make an interesting evening.

Woman's Day meets Star Wars

If your mum actually made you this playset in 1980, know that I envy you. Also, please share photos.

Toy Ventures: Top Ten Silliest Incredible Hulk Items

Marvel Comics The Hulk became a superstar in the 1970s and the licensing deals followed, as much as we love the big guy, not all of his merchandise made sense. This special episode counts down some of the silliest pieces of merchandise the Hulk put his name on. Special thanks to "Toynerd" David Lockwood for all the help on this one!

5 Awesome Things On eBay

Spider-Man Bath Center- "SPIDER-MAN WATCHES AS YOU CLEAN AND SCRUB" is the worst ad copy I have ever read. I really liked Spider-man as a kid but there is no way I'd have been ok with getting naked in front of him. This item would have totally ruined my relationship with comic books forever.

Remco Flash Kite- In 1971, when nobody was making Superhero merchandise, Remco put out a series of Kites that included Wonder Woman in that weird white outfit, Superman, Two Flashes, and of course, Batman. These things are crazy hard to find and I didn't even know if they all got made.

Meteor Man Glider I've seen these gliders for Marvel Comics characters before but never Birdman and the Galaxy Trio before! Apparently Peru liked the series as much as i do.

Battle Star Galactica Latch Hook Kit- Round these parts we called this "Rug Hooking" and boy did I get the bug! I did a Snoopy one and then later designed my own Superman logo. I've seen one of these finished Cylons and let me tell you, it's glorious.

Universal Studios Notebook- My friend David sends me Universal Studios memorabilia auctions all the time and I never want him to stop. This booklet features the Universal Monsters, Battlestar Galactica, and of course the Jaws ride.

Fun Fact about me, I totally freaked out on the Jaws ride my first time on it, it triggered some deep-seated childhood nightmares, I was on my honeymoon.

Lone Ranger Ready to Ride Again

One of the things I love most about this vintage article about the launch of the gorgeous line of Lone Ranger action figures by Hubely/Gabriel.

The point made by the president about how parents would recognize these characters and buy them totally works. One Halloween I was told I was going to be the Lone Ranger by my mother and I think it's because she saw the costume, geeked out and bought it for me....

Buck Rogers Giant Water Squirter

My friend Corey LeChat sent me this incredible find, a Buck Rogers water gun by Barton (makers of the Green Avenger and other classic 1970s water weaponry) and I wasn't even aware this existed!

The Empire Strikes Back Again!

Seeing as it's #1 at the box office again, let's relive when it was #1 in the toy aisle as well. It's hard to believe but prior to the release of Empire, the sales dip of SF toys had many publications asking is it all just a fad

5 Awesome things on eBay this week

Tarzan Paint 'N Wear set by Avalon- I dig Tarzan and I also love 70s craft kits but I do not look good in white.

Corgi Toys Spider-Man three pack- Oh goodness, this thing just makes me 8 years old again. My personal favourite being the jeep in the middle.

Action Team Super Peggy In Europe, the GI Joe Adventure Team added something we didn't get, the ladies and they were really nicely made figures too. I'd love to own one of these.

's
Ultra7 Baseball Glove- It's Ultraman day! So this is the weirdest thing I could find. I don't have enough Ultraman stuff.

Strange Paradise Novel- "Strange Paradise" was a Canadian Soap Opera, a ripoff of "Dark Shadows" that was created by Steven Krantz (who was behind the 1966 Spider-Man series). As i recall, the show mainly revolved around voodoo, reruns aired on City TV in the late 70s, where I could not look away. I swear, nothing ever happened but my friend Johnny swore Jean Paul Desmond (the show's Barnabas) once conjured a demon.
