It's been months since I found a good colouring book to review around here so I jumped on the horn and asked my friend Sharry (AKA Hardygirl on the Mego Museum forum) to dig one out of her pretty vast library and she chose this. To my surprise this book isn't vintage, it's from 2005!
I'll be honest and reveal to everyone that H.R. Pufnstuf scared the living crap out of me as a kid. That scene with the boat transforming just freaked out four year old Brian to where it actually left a l'il scar.
It didn't scare me in a "Jon Pertwee Doctor Who" way, it went deeper than that. As a result, despite being a 70s fetishist, this is one property I'm kind of lukewarm to...
Bring your LSD crayon and join me after the jump:
The art is actually very nice, I would have been shocked to see this on store shelves some 35 years after it left the air.
Freddy also scared me, what I can I say, I was a delicate little snowflake as a kid....
I'm suddenly craving a happy meal.
Oddly, I wasn't really bothered by Witchie poo but Mama Cass's appearance in the movie. That might be motivated by my dislike for musical numbers in kid's movies.
I guarantee no kid got this play on words, I had to think about it.
I have to crawl into the fetal position now. Feel free to call me a wuss, I deserve it.
Thanks Sharry!

It likely was produced in 2005 to help with promotion of the then newly released complete episode dvd box set.
I lived in Atlanta by the Omni, a stadium where they had some sort of weird, ill-fated Sid and Marty Kroft theme park. Clearly more kids that just you were creeped out by H.R. n' the gang.
