Japanese Frankenstein Sketchbook

(this one from Matt tasks me a little as i seriously want it!)

This fabulous sketchbook from Japan was made in the 1970s. It features a Karloff Frankenstein from 1939's "Son of Frankenstein".

There's interesting artwork on the inside cover as well. Rather disappointingly, the sketch pages are completely blank, with no artwork in the margins. I can't read Japanese, so I don't know with the lettering on the inside of the book says.

The building that Frankenstein is looming over on the cover with the jet flying out of it looks familiar, but I can't for the life of me figure out what it's from.

That jet fighter is seriously weird.
Is that a conning tower on top of the fuselage?

Giant Frankenstein monster grabbing a rocket-ship? What more is there to want? I love this.

OK, somebody who can read Japanese seriously needs to translate all this for us.

The building reminds me of something from a Gerry Anderson production... Doppelganger/Journey to the Far Side of the Sun maybe?

Okay, the jet plane is definitely from "Mighty Jack"

But I am still no closer to figuring out what that building is. It's driving me nuts

@Matt,

It might be a picture of a building, made just for this item's box.
I'm just guessing. :D
