Gotta love the font they used for "without GI Joe". This is how the phrase "read the fine print" got started.

As awesome as the entire kit is, this Anon still isn't interested in trading his Hoth Wampa.

Posing GI Joe on all fours and placing Abominable on a snow drift (with some foreground snow to imply distance) doesn't explicitly lie about Abbie being way shorter than Joe, but it does invite kids to imagine a Kong-sized quarry.

I remember seeing a GI Joe jungle adventure that boasted a gorilla -- cast from the same mold? -- that was comically petite in relation to Joe.

"The snowman says- Gosh! I'm interrupting you, while you're eating a giant plate of spaghetti and meatballs.

Sorry about that!"

You’re correct about the abominable being cast from the same mold as the ape from the “Capture of the Pygmy Gorilla” set. I loved these as a kid but I was always disappointed with the scale of the animals. The shark in “The Shark’s Surprise” was minuscule compared to Joe. Same for the tiger which was molded in a sitting pose, presumably so it would fit in the equally small cage.

So is he a snowman or a gorilla?

And how has Joe spotted him by looking in a completely different direction? Must have great peripheral vision.

In the spirit of Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom, Joe's gotta capture that mofo . Gods forbid he just takes some photos and leaves it in peace.
Manifest Destiney and all that.
