Bags of Fun: Action Figures

As a kid, I figured out that combining these sets with other dimestore novelties could result in some B-Movie goodness, so I had Cowboys vs Giant bugs and Army Men vs Dinosaurs quite often. This is the only skill of merit that I taught my children.

Awesome stuff. I know I had a bunch of those astronauts lying around - never knew where they came from. Not sure if I had any of the others, but of course I had a pile of generic green U.S. soldiers (Vietnam era I suppose since they carried M16s).

Overall though I was into more upscale plastic soldiers, primarily Britains and Airfix from various historical eras - Greeks/Romans, Middle Ages, American Revolution, Napoleonic Wars, Civil War, WW2, modern age, etc.

Fun stuff! Some of my best memories are playing army men with my Grandpa, and then playing the same way with my son. How many of us had Shogun Godzilla attack their army men?
