Daredevil Action Christmas

It would be silly to discuss Christmas in the 1970s without talking about one of it's most popular toys. The Evel Knievel stunt set seemed like a license to print money until a certain incident (you know..bonk! bonk!) ceased it's production.

Before that though, what an evergreen this thing was.....

More Daredevil stunt goodness.

i loved evel knievel when i was a kid,ive still got the classic bike set.i seem to remember a stunt cycle that was fired out of a shotgun type of thing.it came with a set of barrels to crash through but i remember mainly scaring our dog with it.was this an evel knievel set too?

I had the posable figure with the bike. And funny that anon above mentions his dog, because my dog had a habit of ritually slaughtering any action figure or human-shaped toy I left on the floor.
Well, he killed my Big Jim Doll, he killed the Evel Knievel doll, and he even tore up Stretch Armstrong. Which was quite a feat, because those things were hard rubber and weighed as much as a bowling ball, and he was not a big dog.
We all saw a pattern there. He was pretty neurotic, sometimes, but otherwise he was a pretty good dog. He ended up dying from a stroke at the age of thirteen.
We still miss him, and I could never bring myself to get angry at him, even when he shredded my Christmas presents.
