I'm too full of chocolate and coffee to do anything like Colouring Book Theatre today but I thought I'd share this fun shot of me and Mego Spider-Man (who does not have a great view) on Easter morning, I'm guessing in 1976. I am assuming that there was some sort if law that children had to wear the Ernie-esque striped shirts back then, I seemed to own nothing but these and turtle necks judging from my photos...
Wow - that could just as easily be a pic of me or my brother from the same time span. And yeah, we had the Ernie stripes and Bert turtlenecks too.
ReplyDeleteYes, stripes were very popular back then. I too owned a few.
ReplyDeleteThose shirts were a 70's staple. As were pictures taken with your toys. Or posing your toys and taking their picture. Get the picture?
ReplyDeleteYou boys were lucky. We had Danskins - hideous color-coordinated separates in a stretch polyester. I begged and pleaded for toughskins or wranglers like my brother had. I hated my mother.
ReplyDeleteSorry Beth. That does suck. I know one girl who begged her parents for Hot Wheels, but they wouldn't buy them for her since she was a girl.
ReplyDeleteAlthough we as boys did have to go through the weird transition of discovering black or brown socks were JUST NOT COOL, and begged our parents to buy us white socks.
