Christmas of 1983 would be the first one where I didn't get a Star Wars toy in well, five years. After Jedi, I couldn't help feel like it was over, and well, going into the eighth grade was also a huge factor. I still fondly looked at this stuff on the shelves.
Christmas of 1983, I was in the first grade, and got Jabba the Hutt, the Y-Wing fighter, and the Ewok village for Christmas. The Y-wing fighter, with Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker at the helm, buzzed my sister's Barbie penthouse on Christmas morning.
ReplyDeleteWhy were they still promoting the Y-Wing for Jedi? Was the B-Wing a weak seller? I know they didn't even bother to release the A-wing until a couple years later.
