Just unearthed this sell sheet for GLJ toy's Godzilla bendy from the 1970s, there is nothing I don't like about this toy but the biggest thing is the amazing effort they put into this card art.
The connection to the Marvel Comic with the logo, really doesn't hurt does it?
This is the only Godzilla toy I have. This is the first time I've seen one on the card, and yes, the artwork is amazing.
ReplyDeleteWhen I got mine as a young child, I recognized (and already had in my posession) the army vehicles on the card art... at the time, the truck and helicopter were released as M*A*S*H vehicles (along with a jeep & trailer not pictured). I loved the creative use of HO train layout stuff along with the military vehicles, and immediately made my own temporary dioramas based on the card. Fun!
ReplyDeleteI still have the Godzilla toy, but part of the bendy internal armature snapped, so I can only do about half a thousand poses now.
