I'm really happy vinyl is back in what few record stores I can find these days, that's why I love this 1978 catalog from Dejay featuring a variety of licensed children's record players. Disco, Holly Hobbie and the Superfriends, it's a grouping that won't happen in any other decade.... Check out the 1978 Dejay Catalog here.
Oh. My. LORD!!! I got a Dejay record player for Christmas in 1983 when I was four years old - the Playmates one from the catalog you linked to in the post. The cool thing is that 32 years later, not only do I still have the record player in my possession, but it still works! I plug it in every now and then, mostly to play one of my Fleetwood Mac records that I collected as an adult, but I also still have some of the kiddie records from when I was little, like Sesame Street, Strawberry Shortcake, Berenstain Bears, and I had lots of Peter Pan brand records too (my favorite was "In a Little Red Schoolhouse").
I love that the ad has shown via the dispensed hat, glasses and tie that Superman has shed his alter ego to listen to this record player. That Clark Kent is way too much of a turkey to disco!
Due to recent events, I'm limiting comments to google account holders only. Sorry if you're a decent person affected by this but the spam has gotten weird.
