I really miss poster art sets, I'm sure they still exist but I'm more or less referring to the days of doing them. These Star Trek sets by Open Door Enterprises bring back some strong happy memories, below are the two sets that they offered for much of the 1970s.
Man, that "Star Trek lives" mantra got around in the 1970s.
The art on these seems pretty impressive, a nice bit of work. In my travels I haven't seen many of these kicking around.
I had one of these sets that had a paint-by-numbers version of the Space: 1999 poster artwork that Gray Morrow did (the one where Koenig, Russell, and Bergman are running around on the moon surface without space suits while Alpha blows up behind them). After diligently coloring in all the little blobs, I was disappointed to see that the poster looked more like a bad Peter Max painting rather than the Gray Morrow original. It was still a fun way to kill a Saturday afternoon.
ReplyDeleteMan, those are some busy posters! I can recognize a lot of different episodes happenin' there.
