I had one very similar to this just a few years later - the LED readout was so bright that, if you entered in 88888888, you could read by the light while under the covers.
My family had an old calculator we had to plug in as well. Looked just like that only a bit bigger. The buttons "clicked" when you pushed them and it had bright red numbers.
