I'd really like to nominate the Fisher Price Boat pictured here as one of the greatest bathtub toys ever created. I realize there is no "bathtub toys hall of fame" but there should be, I'd visit!
We had one of these a few years ago. I think we ended up giving it to Salvation Army. It was in decent shape too, I just didn't have the energy to try and sell it. It did NOT have the people, and only had one chair.
I never had these cool-ass toys! I don't get it. Where were my folks buying my toys? Kids in school had that awesome Fisher Price Boat and the McDonald's. I never did. I think my parents finally got us a McDonald's from a garage sale but it was like missing all the cool stuff and was just a shell of the original toy.
This was by far my favorite you growing up. I grew up in an old feed mill that my parents converted in our family home. Being a mill it's location was in a flood zone. When the water came up we had no time to get out, just go up. I would put the captain in the driver's seat and watch it float around the staircase from the higher floor. Brings back memories of my earliest years.
Due to recent events, I'm limiting comments to google account holders only. Sorry if you're a decent person affected by this but the spam has gotten weird.
another "I totally forgot we'd had that!" moment.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
It would have my vote, that toy rocked the boat!

ReplyDeleteAgreed on this being a hall-of-famer. I absolutely LOVED this toy as a kid. The lounge chairs, the diving board, the grill -- c'mon!
ReplyDeleteWhat about the Gilligan's Island bath toy?
ReplyDeleteI dug Fisher Price toys! I had a Holiday Inn play-set, and always coveted my friends McDonald's play-set!
