Smash Up Derby cars were the epitome of 70s toys to me: Speed, hitting and teeny parts that got lost easily.
Not to be one of those 'it was better back in the day' guys, but I think that SST cars should make a comeback.
As a graphic designer, I still think that 1976 star-logo thing was pretty sharp. I remember having an USAirfix T-38 model all bedecked in bicentennial colors.

I still remember the Bicentennial Parade with the covered wagons.
