Props to Myspace pal "The Comatose Boy" for these amazing pictures from Grand Junction Colorado where the remanants of an old school rocket park can be found. THe top of the rocket is now closed to the public, but tell me that isn't cool.
An old school Saucer too, man finding this is gold!

Rocket slides were the best! Plus on a hot Texas day you could literally melt your Toughskins on the way down the slide.
ReplyDeleteThat rocket thing rocks. It looks like the one the Lovedolls escape in at the end of the second Lovedolls movie!
ReplyDeleteWe used to have one of these at a neighborhood park, but years later when I went to show it to my wife, it was gone.
ReplyDeleteCreeps.
"Mission control, Billy's about to fly off the satellite into deep space!!"
ReplyDeleteCool. The elementary school I went to in Anaheim had a lighthouse tower. Great fun. They tore it down around 1990. Check out my website's tribute to metal playground equipment.

I used to play in this playground as a kid. The moon farm was also one of my favorite places to go (the old saloon kind of gave me the heeby jeebies though).
ReplyDeleteThere's still one of these I used to play on in my hometown (Miami, OK), and a modern one in my current town (Edmond, OK).
