Not many movies can still keep selling toys two years after their debut but I guess that's why Star Wars was such a phenom. The kenner toys were kind of in a state arrested development by this point, next year would see Jedi and tons of new toys but at 13, I found much of it too "muppety"*. Star Wars figures piqued at Zuckuss, Bossk and IG88 for me. It's all about the bounty hunters baby...

Oh yeah, man, I was all about the Bounty Hunters too. I had 'em all lined up on my shelf in my room, talking to Vader.
ReplyDeleteI was too old for "Jedi" toys BUT I BOUGHT THEM ALL ANYWAY. What can I say?
But yeah -- I remember when I first got Bossk, I begged and begged and begged for 'im.
Bossk! Man I had to re-buy that figure in college, I caught my son and nephew beheading some of my vintage figures one day after I returned from work! To this day they both never live that down...
ReplyDeleteWhat amazes me are some of the prices, they don't seem too far off from today, especially the Falcon. I think I paid that much for the newer release, maybe 5 or 6 buck more.
the price points on these are crazy high, man, how did my poor mom ever afford to buy all this stuff for me!!!!

The prices are probably Canadian, if that helps. If you're American, your mom likely paid less.
