Stretch Monster and Hutch

This is the coolest crossover that never was, ABC really missed making some event television. Hutch and Steve Austin could have complimented themselves on terrible mustache decisions...

  1. What catalog did this come from? It looks familiar. I'm guessing Sears circa 1975?

  2. The ad says Starsky's car is "Twist out." Is that some kind of funky 70s slang I don't know?

  3. I loved my Stretch Monster. My parents weren't so fond of the corn syrup "blood" he left on the shag carpeting after an encounter with a GI Joe bayonet.

  4. Is it me or did they use the same figures of Starsky and Hutch for Planet of the Apes ?

  5. Mego sculpted the Starksy and Hutch heads separately, they are no relation to Virdon and Burke.

This is JC Penny 1978 for those that asked.

I guess that "twist out" means that the car is battery powered, + that you can make the car do a move called- a spin out.
