Or maybe the universe between the freezing weather and Buck Rogers is telling you to freeze yourself for a couple hundred years. When you wake up all your toys will be super rare antiques and insanely valuable...

Didn't have the gun, but I had that poster on our basement wall. Which confused me because I never saw the movie and some of the characters in that poster never appeared in the regular series, as far as I know.
