  2. Wonder if you could combine it with a Great White Shark kit? ;)

  3. MPC produced the R.O.T.J. Speeder bike too, I was 15, I loved Star Wars but I also loved Rockabilly music, what's a boy to do? Turn the speeder biker into a 50's biker!! It was a lot of work! Loads of modeling putty later it didn't look great, the Fonzie figure would've saved me a lot of work and a lot of heart ache!! - Mark J

  4. No offense intended Anon Above Me, unless you're one of those freakishly talented chaps with a row of Games Workshop Golden Daemon "Oscar" statues for "Best Conversion" on your shelf, Rockabilly Biker Scout isn't going to happen. Even with this kit, you would have had a tone of work.

You'd need Hollywood-grade maquette modelling skills just to make Fonzie look like Fonzie. The sculpt wasn't that good at all. This is the best a talented adult modeller could do with the kit.

  5. in true Fonzie fashion, you didn't need to assemble the kit. You just gave the box a thump in the right place, opened it up and "Ayyyyyyyyy", the model's made!

  6. Exactly!! I had bopped around my living room from the age of 12 to the hits of grease! My enthusiasm for all things 50's exceeded my skills as a model maker and now apparently a phone upgrade means I'm no longer anonymous - Mark J

  7. Thanks Anon2 for posting the finished model. Great job assembling and painting him but as you said the sculp is... well... not all that great. Looks like the proportions are really off and he doesn't look that much like Winkler at all.

Think I can see why the Universal monster figures were the most popular figure models from that era. Not only are monsters cooler but if the proportions are off- well they're monsters aren't they!?!

Tom Brokaw rides a motorcycle? Who knew?

This one, like the Steve Austin models, is probably best left in the shrinkwrap.
