Ready Ranger Love

I never had the Aurora Ready Ranger as a kid, so when I first blogged about it here I assumed many of it's features were largely disappointing.

Over the years I've had comments and emails from 70s kids who have passionately told me about how fun and entertaining an item this was. So I guess I stand corrected, it's hard not to like a toy with a periscope. I wish I had one now...

  1. This was one toy that I couldn't wait until Christmas to get. I always loved toys that were open ended in the sense that I could pretend to be whatever adventurer I wanted to be with this cool package of gadgets. It didn't turn out to be quite as fun as I thought it would be, but I still got a lotta play out of it. The periscope was cool, as was the flashlight. The loudspeaker thing did not work and seemed more like a vacuum attachment. The cardboard inserts warped over time and fell out. Still, it was fun for about six months, which is pretty good for a child's toy.
