Judging by the looks of the 1978 Sears Canada catalog, people used their beds for one thing alone, sleep. Page after page of shapeless, body covering burcas.
Tonight they are going to party like its 1899... Who knows? They might even get "naughty" and kiss thier husband on the cheek before retiring to thier separate beds! Golly.
