Robert ...Gamera and this Anon are on the same page. Robert Ebert famously said, "no movie featuring either Harry Dean Stanton or M. Emmet Walsh in a supporting role can be altogether bad." The same is just as true for Dick Miller.<br /><br />He was probably "the" classic character-actor of the 70s-80s and turns up simply everywhere. To his credit, he truly was a great actor. He could take a bit part and inject genuine and credible emotion into it. <br /><br />Some of his portrayals of "frazzled shopkeeper" characters have never been equalled. The "Alamo" owner in the Terminator is the one everyone remembers with a bunch of truly quotable lines, but his book store owner in "The Howling" is the gold standard for a man who's well and truly tired of dealing with the public.
